Südlich der Stadt beginnt langsam der regenreichere Teil Chiles. Die Stadt ist ein Industriezentrum, während das Umland durch die Forstwirtschaft geprägt ist. Die Stadt liegt verkehrsgünstig an der Panamericana.

Im Haupthaus befinden sich 2 großzügige Schlafzimmer, beide mit eigenem Bad und Whirlpool. Das Zentrum ist eine große Küche mit einem Küchenherd. Die Einbaumöbel der offenen Küche sind aus massivem Zedernholz. Der Wohnraum mit großem Tisch aus Zypresse bietet viel Platz, ebenso das Wohnzimmer. Neben der Küche gibt es einen Raum für die Warmwasseraufbereitung und viel Platz für Küchengeräte.
Richtung Terrasse kommt man durch eine Art Wintergarten mit Kamin und Bibliothek. Es schließen sich an 1 großer Vorratsraum mit Kühltruhe und eine Gästetoilette. Über die Terrasse (ca. 70 qm), die mit Palmen und Bananenstauden verziert wird und mit Lavendel eingerahmt ist, geht es zu den z.T. sehr geräumigen 4 Gästezimmern, alle mit Bad und Dusche. Von der Terrasse blickt man auf den ca. 100 qm großen Pool und den Park mit vielen Drachenbäumen, Kamelien, Mimosen, Magnolien und viele Oleandersträuche. Unser besonderer Stolz ist ein Bambus- Wäldchen, ebenso die vielen Sisal- und Rohrhecken. Sehr schön sind die vielen alten endemischen Bäume wie Quillay und Boldo. Auf dem Gelände ist auch noch ein kleiner Teich (Biotop), ca. 60 qm groß. Für unseren Hausgebrauch haben wir auch einen Köhlerofen.
Im Nutzgarten steht ein Gewächshaus aus Eisen und Glas, wie auch noch 6 gemauerte Hochbeete. Es ist ein Kräuterparadies. An Obst gibt es Mirabellen, Pflaumen, NÃsperos, Pfirsiche, Blutpfirsiche, Äpfel, Birnen, Nektarinen und natürlich Weintrauben und Kiwis. Wir besitzen eine hauseigene Wasserversorgung, d.h. chlorfreies Wasser!!! Was natürlich in Südamerika nicht fehlen darf, ist ein schattiger Grillplatz und ein Erdofen für Brot und Pizza etc. Eine holzgefeuerte Therme für ca. 6 Personen, ca. 1000 Eukalyptus- Bäume, um die Sonnenenergie zu akkumulieren, also späteres Brennholz.
